Where to Look For a Work at Home Job Or Business - How Do You Decide?

More and more working mothers are looking through the internet and the classified ads for the perfect work at home job - one that allows them to make their own hours, and spend time with their kids. There are some legitimate companies out there but there are also an equal amount of scams. Some work at home opportunities offer a higher hourly wage but no insurance or benefits. And some business opportunities can offer a large payout but you do have to invest your time and money for marketing. In order to decide which route to choose you should look at and write down your goals. Are you looking for some short term income and employment or long term financial freedom? If you are just looking for some extra spending cash a part time job from home might be fine. And if you don't have the cash to spend on a consistent marketing campaign that might also be the way to go. If you are looking to build a business for yourself while making time for your family, examine each opportunity carefully. Make sure that the one you choose has:
1) Easy access to support.
2) A step by step marketing plan with time tested ads and sales copy.
3) A follow up system that works automatically to keep your opportunity in front of interested parties.
4) A high enough priced product so that you don't have to sell a million of them to make a profit.
Then really examine where you are both in mindset and finances:
1) Do you have the time to devote to your business on a daily, weekly and monthly basis?
2) Are you dedicated to succeeding?
3) Do you have some income available to devote to your marketing efforts until you business can pay for its own marketing?
4) Are you the type of person who can seem enthusiastic and get others enthusiastic about your business, service or products?
If you can answer yes to these four questions then go for the home business otherwise look at a work at home job opportunity. If your answer is that you need some part time income consider sites like guru.com and rentacoder.com. These sites are full of people looking for individuals to fulfill short term projects. They need writers, programmers, marketers, etc... You bid on the job and if they choose you they will pay you when the job is complete. It may take a while to build your reputation but eventually you can earn a good living this way.
If your answer is that you need a business of your own that will support you and your kids for years to come the consider finding a home business that you can get enthusiastic about. Remember to look at their marketing campaign and customer service first. And make sure that you are dedicated to treating it like a business. Remember you are the boss and the amount of money that you earn is entirely up to you.
